Carrazedo de Montenegro was a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Valpaços, with 29.08 km² in area and 1,620 inhabitants (2011). Density: 55.7 inhabitants / km².
Carrazedo is located in Trás-os-Montes in the district of Vila Real, in the municipality of Valpaços. It benefits from being equidistant from Murça, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Valpaços and Chaves.
Carrazedo has a climate that is punished by winds and hail storms in the spring. With the fall of the leaf, the temperatures become milder, making an interregnum between the heat and the coming cold. This type of climate is called Mediterranean-continental.

Economy
The economic activities of this region are agriculture (export of chestnuts, apples, pears, and peaches), trade, services, civil construction, bakery, locksmiths, and winemaking.
In the parish, there is one of the largest centers for exporting chestnuts in the country, a fruit that represents 17% of the total volume of fruit exports in Portugal. For this reason, Carrazedo de Montenegro is called the Capital of the chestnut.
